Microsoft Corp. and Yahoo Inc. had no comment on a report that they're once again in discussions to sell Yahoo's online search business for $20 billion. The Sunday Times of London wrote that Microsoft had agreed to the "broad terms of a deal" but that there was no guarantee that it would be completed.

Microsoft is once again in talks with Yahoo to acquire its search business for $20 billion according to reports from The Times.The deal comes after two previously failed Microsoft attempts to take over all of Yahoo. Also, Microsoft would support a Yahoo management team with $5 billion. This would be used to fill in several empty positions on Yahoo's team, such as the CEO position Jerry Yang left recently.

Microsoft confirmed not only that malware attacks designed to take advantage of a Server Service vulnerability affecting both Windows client and server versions of the platform, are no longer isolated and targeted cases, but also that infections with malicious code have been detected. On November 25, Bill Sisk, Microsoft Security Response Center Communications Manager, and Ziv Mador, Senior Program Manager and Response Coordinator, revealed that the company is aware of a new wave of attacks targeting a vulnerability rated as Critical for which Microsoft Security Bulletin MS08-067 has been release in October as an out of band patch.

Microsoft is laboring to serve Service Pack 2 for Windows Vista a little over a year after the availability of Service Pack 1, beating Windows 7 to the market. The first development milestones of Windows Vista Service Pack 2 have already shipped to testers and are even available for download for users of the operating system outside of the limited testing pool selected by Microsoft. Come 2009, the Redmond company will make available the Release Candidate of the operating system's SP2 one year after the RTM of SP1, just to deliver the gold bits a couple of months after that.
